• I know someone who took the normal advice and followed it to the ‘t’ by studying at an Ivy League, getting a degree in STEM, working in Silicon Valley and then plunged into a deep depression.
• He is not American, he is not white and he is not meant to be in the place that the prevailing wisdom informed him to go to.
• This is why stories and representation matter. We need custom scripts for everyone and the knowledge that we have to piece them together to figure out what works for us.
