• As the world becomes ever more connected economically, companies are able to service ever bigger markets and outgrow the countries that host them in economic and political importance.
• Without Novo Nordisk, Denmark would have gone into a recession in 2024.
• Without TSMC, Taiwan would have probably have been invaded by now.
• Norway is a trust fund that happens to be beholden to a country.
• Ireland is a tax haven that happens to employ Irish people.
• South Korea is steered by the Chaebol.
• The success of these companies becomes an existential concern for the countries thereby subverting the democracies and the idea of nation states.
