Consent Is Not A Magic Word

Consent is important in that it means that all parties have a chance to agree to something before it happens, however it makes no value judgement on the action that is about to occur
Consent can be used to facilitate behaviour that neither party actually stands for but using the magic word of consent it means that there’s a pact formed that both parties are at least aware of what is about to happen
People can “consent” to hurting themselves and others, it doesn’t mean damage wasn’t done just because they consented to it
