To choose someone is to look at them, their choices and the life that was begotten from the choices and admire all of it
To have a glimpse at how they see the world and how they approach it
There are a lot of signals that cannot be cheaply forged: their friend circle, the relationship they have with their family, how they keep their home, how they keep their body – none of this can be bought and all of it has to be earned
