How Important Is Community?

I had a friend who moved from Geneva to London. I asked them why they moved if Geneva is the epitome of a developed city. She said that no one pronounced her name and didn’t care to try. In London, she there were people who not only cared to learn the pronunciation but also corrected others when it was mispronounced
I’ve walked around the beautiful parks of Oslo and I understand everything everyone is saying around me but I doubt I would be truly understood even if I spoke Norwegian
It’s possible to find the pockets of people but it feels like it you against the world as opposed to being part of the world
